Some Singular Experiences from My Youth -- Part I

In October of 1963, when I was a freshman at Marygrove College, I had the privilege of soloing during the visit of the former King of Italy, Umberto II, to Detroit's San Francesco Church. The image of the King kneeling in prayer was taken while I was singing the Ave Maria by Schubert.

Video of San Marino

This Polish-made video captures the charm of my native country, the Republic of San Marino: http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=dRhT4b3Rq0c

The music evokes medieval festivities.

My Motown Record

You can hear a clip from my Motown record, "Love's What You Want," at this site: http://www.soulcity.ndo.co.uk/031006Maurita.ram

However, the gentleman who posted the clip mistakenly lists my name as "Maurita Gatey" instead of "Marisa Gatti!"

More of the song can be found at: http://www.raresoulman.co.uk/sounds/exists.php?catno=52808&artist=marisa_gatti&title=love_s_what_you_want

An article about my experience is posted at OnMilwaukee.com:
